    Manpower is one of biggest problems facing any developing country today. Tanzania is not exceptional. In her struggle to achieve self reliance, Tanzania has made another encouranging step in the field of Medioine. The introduction of Postgraduate studies in different branohfts of Medicine has been received with great applause. In Surgery until the end of 1978/79 academic year^ thirteen doctors have been awarded with degrees of Master of Medicine (M. Med. Surgery). These are working not only in the three National Consulting Hospitals, but also in the Regional Hospitals, in the country.
