    (Fosbrooke, 1989) Chamshama, S. A. O.; Kerkhof, P.; Singunda, W. T.
The Ngorongoro Conservation and Development Project (NCDP) is a collaborative venture between the Tanzanian Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Tourism, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Financial support for the project is provided by the Norwegian Agency for International Development and the EEC Food Aid Counterpart Fund To meet its objectives, NCDP has commissioned a number of technical studies focusing upon particular facets of the management of Ngorongoro and the special issues associated with the operation of a multiple land-use system. These studies are carried out by both national and international specialists, and rely extensively on the involvement and collaboration of senior staff members of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, as well as District and Regional authorities. NCDP also works closely, in a technical advisory capacity, with the ad hoc Ministerial Commission on Ngorongoro, appointed by the Minister of Lands, Natural Resources and Tourism in October, 1988. This Commission has been given a mandate to advise the Ministry on the adoption of a long-term management policy for the Conservation Area.
