    Owner-managers’ perception of the role of entrepreneurship training In enterprise success

    The main objective of this study was to establish owner-managers’ perception of the role of entrepreneurship training in entreprise success by answering the question on how the skills and knowledge acquired from entrepreneurship training contribute in transforming the entreprise. It was guided by theoretical perspectives on entrepreneurship training which were centred on cognitive abilities, strategic action of entrepreneurs and experiential learning. The study applied qualitative approach exploring extensively entreprise transformation that happened through skills acquired from training using cross-case analysis, within and between cases, critically analyzing data obtained from four entrepreneurs based on their business stories that explained business performance before and after training. The study finds that entrepreneurs, from provided evidence, experienced increased sales, customer satisfaction and created jobs as a result of skills acquired from training. Training increased confidence that empowered them with business writing skills as evidenced through capital raised from their business plans. This study underlines the importance of entrepreneurship training to owner-managers in transforming their entreprises. Aspiring entrepreneurs should attend entrepreneurship training sessions for their benefits both individually and for the entreprise.
