Item Development of a zero inertia model for overland flow simulation(1995) Adam, Elsafi AhmedThe overland flow component is modelled using the Zero Inertia equations. An approximate analytical solution for the Zero-Inertia equations is developed using the concept of moving boundary conditions. The model was applied to a single plane of an infinite length on the catchment and a sensitivity analysis was carried to check the effect of slope, length and width of the plane on the behaviour of the analytical solution. The Zero-Inertia Model was tested under a set of hypothetical data and compared with the kinematic wave model (Lax-Wendroff second order accuracy explicit scheme), to check weather the model can be able to reproduce the same outflow hydrograph or not.
